Aha! Labs

Aha!'s cloud-based software helps product managers align their strategy to their team's work and create visual roadmaps. Companies like Linkedin, Dell, BBC, and Zillow use Aha! for product management.

My Role

I was the Lead and Principal UX Designer of the Aha! SAAS Application. The product was in its infancy and I helped bring maturity and user-centered designs to the brand and user interface.

Aha! Starter Roadmap Builder

The Aha! application required the user to enter data via forms in order to produce a roadmap. This often stalled first time users who wanted a visual roadmap right away. The team decided to create a starter roadmap builder which I designed. There were many sophisticated micro interaction designs required in order to provide an intuitive drag and drop interface.

A single bar required many actions such as dragging, resizing, adding text, and drop-down options. The result is an intuitive roadmap builder that was easy to navigate while still maintaining all the data records within Aha!

Reports Dashboard

Another significant application update was the Reports Dashboard. Prior to the redesign, the saved reports were contained inside a single drop-down menu. This often led to an unmanageable long list. The new dashboard enables users to save, share and move reports in folders through a drag & drop interface. Users can also search and sort through a series of filters and add reports to favorites.

Aha! Marketing Site

As a SAAS company, it was critical for the marketing website to speak for itself and strike the balance between the ability to conduct sales and educate. We were constantly pivoting and adjusting to strike this balance. We regularly ran A/B tests to measure which layout, or image, or CTA that brought the most traffic to the Free Trial page.
